A 3 foot tall arboreal ape-like animal with long spindly arms covered in thick body hair and a fiendish grin. Its body hair is of a brownish color that helps conceal itself in the trees and will surprise PCs on a roll of 4 out of 6 or below. If a party is looking at the tree line looking for an Argopelter it will only succeed in spotting one on a roll of 1 or 2.
The Argopelter is an adept climber and fiercely territorial. It views any sentient humanoid creatures as potential threats to its territory and will hurl branches at these creatures until they leave its area. When not spending its time eating wood peckers, hoot owls and doozy wood it is collecting branches in preparation to defend its territory.
