The Tailypo is seen by a party as a normalish looking cat-like creature with an abnormally long looking tail. This tails gleams with magical powers. In the first encounter it acts like a normal cat.
When a Tailypo is killed its body blinks to another space and its tail is left behind.
The first person to touch the tail of the creature is tainted by its curse. In 1d4 nights the PC is awoken to a voice their had asking for the taily, please. If they cannot find the tail of the creature it screams in the PCs head and vows revenge. The Tailypo will then sneak around the watch and attempt to attack any animals or henchmen in the party and will run away into the night if it is confronted.
The Tailypo will do this until the PCs animals and henchmen are worn down to exhaustion always asking the PC for its tail. It will not attack a party with a large night watch group biding its time until it can get its tail back. On a night time search roll of 1 out of 6 the Tailypo may be spotted but will always try and run away when it is found and will only strike the PC has has taken its tail initially will it has an advantage. It will use the rest of its unnatural life to wreak havok on the PC until it is given its tail back.
If a PC in the party of the PC who last touched the tail of a Tailypo but has not killed it again is in the woods they will hear a soft whisper of the word "tailypo" if the roll a 2 on a 1d6 and will not be able to decipher where it is coming from.
The skin of a Tailypo can be turned by a skilled midwife into a cloak of invisibility (1d6 turns).
