If and when I take a look at Wrestleworld again I think I need to make some changes. I like how it is wrestling game/dungeon exploration to get to main event but in other ways it is not satisfying. It gets the feel 1/2 way between wrestling and fantasy rpgs and does not do either great, which is why I think I dropped it when I did. It was good but could be much better. Here some ways I think I could fix it.
Kill levels at least in the abstract numbered levels. No levels 1-X. Change them all to name levels. Your are not a 1st level PC you are talent enhancement, not 2nd level you are a jobber, there is a max level and it is World Champion. Advancement is through XP gained by winning feuds, getting pushed, having the crowd love/hate you. Wrestling things that are given point numbers and advancement usually comes at the price of someone else falling down the card.
Figure out some type of not so railroady mechanic for feud generation.
Get rid of the various different dungeons for the types of wrestlers and place all styles into one fed as a kitchen sink type of approach. that would involve writing up a setting, wrestlers & managers to fill the card.
Make the combat less I hit you hit which can be both fun and tiresome at the same time.
Speed up combat because running a game that is part fighting/promo cutting skits will work a shit ton different then the action-centric version last played.
Make some type of conversion table for FLAILSNAIL PCs who want to become pro-wrestlers.
Get rid of the entire concept of death for PCs. Make a wrestling injury chart to take the place of the death and dismemberment chart.
